HANOVER, N.H. - Sophomore forward Jackie Wishoski (Malden, Mass.) gave the University of New Hampshire women's soccer team an early lead with a goal in the eighth minute, but Dartmouth College rallied behind a pair of goals by Lea Kiefer for a 3-1 victory Wednesday afternoon at Chase Field. UNH is now 2-5-2 overall and Dartmouth is 2-5-0.
The Wildcats, who generated a 14-12 shot advantage in the match, took a 1-0 lead at 7:16 when Wishoski collected a pass from Chiara Best (Rose Valley, Pa.) and fired a high shot into the netting. Wishoski and Best are tied for the team lead in points with eight, as Wishoski has a team-high four goals and Best has three goals and two assists.
Dartmouth evened the score, 1-1, on Kiefer's first tally at 27:05. The game remained deadlocked until she struck again at 63:00. Roxane Davis scored with two minutes remaining to give the Big Green a two-goal advantage.
UNH goalie Liz MacKay (Scituate, Mass.) finished with five saves and DC counterpart Anne Marbarger stopped six shots.
New Hampshire returns to action Oct 2 at the University of Harftord for its America East conference opener. The next Wildcat home game is Oct. 10 vs. Albany. Game time at Lewis Fields is 3:30 p.m.
