New Hampshire women's soccer bested by Boston College, 2-0

CHESTNUT HILL, Mass. - The University of New Hampshire women's soccer team was defeated by Boston College, 2-0, in Tuesday afternoon's non-conference game at the Boston College Soccer Fields.

New Hampshire, which started a seven-game road stretch with the trip to BC, is now 2-4-0 on the season. The host Eagles improved to 7-2-0.

Boston College opened the scoring in the 34th minute on a goal by Colleen Danaher. BC took that 1-0 lead into halftime and extended it to two goals with a Kate Halloran goal at 60:47.

UNH senior goalkeeper Steph Springer (Solana Beach, Calif.) recorded 10 saves. Boston College's Courtney Schaeffer stopped three shots.

New Hampshire returns to action Sept. 22 (3 p.m.) with its America East opener at Maine. The next Wildcat home game is Oct. 13 against Vermont. Game time is 3 p.m.
