CAMBRIDGE, Mass. – Allie Duclos (South Windsor, Conn.), a sophomore defender on the 14th-ranked University of New Hampshire women’s lacrosse team, was honored as America East Defensive Player of the Week on Monday.
Duclos recorded a goal, eight ground balls, four caused turnovers and three draw controls in UNH’s two games last week. She tallied a game-high and career-best six ground balls as well as two caused turnovers and two draw controls at nationally-ranked Dartmouth College on Feb. 28. Earlier in the week (Feb. 25) at the College of the Holy Cross, Duclos finished with one goal, two ground balls, two caused turnovers and one controlled draw.
In three games (all starts) this season, Duclos has recorded 10 ground balls, five caused turnovers and five draw controls. She leads the Wildcats in ground balls, is tied for the lead in caused turnovers and is tied for second in draw controls. Duclos also has two points, both on goals.
Duclos started all 14 games in which she played last season and earned America East All-Conference First Team and All-Rookie Team accolades.
New Hampshire (2-1 overall, 0-0 America East) returns to action March 4 at home against Yale University. Game time at Memorial Field is 3 p.m. The Wildcats conclude the week March 7 (1 p.m.) at UConn.
