CAMBRIDGE, Mass. – JoJo Curro (Amherst, N.H.), a freshman on the 14th-ranked University of New Hampshire women’s lacrosse team, was named the women’s lacrosse Rookie of the Week by America East on Monday.
In her collegiate debut Feb. 22 against Bryant University, Curro recorded two goals and two assists for four points. She also tallied two ground balls and one draw control. It didn’t take long for Curro to record her first collegiate point as she assisted on the game’s first goal 61 seconds into the contest. She also set up the third goal that gave the ‘Cats a 3-0 lead 2:53 into the game. Curro netted both of her goals in the second half of the 19-2 victory vs. the Bulldogs.
New Hampshire (1-0) returns to action Feb. 25 (3 p.m.) at Holy Cross and concludes the week at 13th-ranked Dartmouth College on Feb. 28 (12 p.m.). The Wildcats’ next home game is March 4 vs. Yale University. Game time at Memorial Field is 3 p.m.
