UNH women's lax players earn academic honor

DURHAM, N.H. -- Seniors Jess Burnap (New Canaan, Conn.), Renee Nemmers (Englewood, Colo.) and Lauren Zerbinopoulos (Kennebunk, Maine), as well as junior Katie Leland (Timonium, Md.), of the University of New Hampshire women's lacrosse team were named to the 2005 National Honor Roll in recognition of academic achievement, the Intercollegiate Women's Lacrosse Coaches' Association (IWLCA) announced Friday.

These four Wildcats and the 148 other student-athletes who received this distinction have achieved junior or senior academic status and recorded a grade-point-average of at least 3.20 for the spring semester as a member of the school's lacrosse team.

Burnap, and Leland were the top two point producers for the 'Cats in 2005 while Nemmers and Zerbinopoulos anchored the defensive unit. Zerbinopoulos, Leland and Burnap all received America East All-Conference First Team honors this season.
