HEMPSTEAD, N.Y. - Danielle Martin (Ellicott City, Md.) and Nicole Moore (Wilton, Maine) of the University of New Hampshire women's lacrosse team were selected to the America East Championships All-Tournament Team following the conclusion of the tourney Saturday evening.
Moore, a junior defender, played tenacious defense in the team's 13-5 semifinal loss to top-seeded Hofstra University on Friday. She established her presence early with two caused turnovers and three ground balls in the opening 15 minutes of the game. Moore, a second-year lacrosse player who earned two letters on the UNH field hockey team, started all 17 games in which she played this season. She ranked second among defensemen in ground balls and led them in caused turnovers.
Martin, a sophomore goalkeeper, excelled in her 44 minutes, 47 seconds of action in relief of starter Amanda Warren. She entered the game at 15:13 of the first half with UNH trailing 5-1 and finished with a season-high 11 saves. Martin played in 13 games this season and recorded a 9.73 goals-against-average with a .504 save percentage in 413:17 of playing time. In three conference games, she boasted a 6.93 GAA and a .600 save percentage.
New Hampshire finished the season at 11-7 following Friday's loss.
It was the fourth consecutive year that UNH competed in the conference tournament and the most wins by a Wildcat team in a decade.
