Two UNH Wildcats honored by America East

BOSTON, Mass. -- Colleen Christopher (Newington, N.H) and Megan Mangano (Saratoga Springs, N.Y.), both juniors on the University of New Hampshire women's lacrosse team, were named to the America East All-Championship Team, which was announced following Saturday's America East Championship game.

Christopher, who was selected to the All-Conference First Team earlier this week, played another solid all-around game in UNH's 18-7 loss to Boston University in the semifinals of the America East Championships. She extended her goal-scoring streak to 17 games with one tally and also contributed a team-best five caused turnovers.

Mangano potted a goal on each of her three shots in the game, and her three tallies matched her previous career high. She scored both of the team's first-half goals and capped the game's scoring in the final minute.

For the season, Christopher led the conference in goals (2.69 gpg) and was sixth in points (2.75 per game). She netted a team-high 44 goals - fourth-best single-season mark at UNH - and also topped the team in points (45), caused turnovers (56) and draw controls (29). A starter in all 17 games, Christopher ranked third in ground balls (44). In 49 career games, she has amassed 81 goals (13th all-time) and 86 points (19th all-time).

For the third consecutive year, Mangano was the Wildcat leader in assists (10). She also ranked third in points (28) and scooped up 28 ground balls. She ended the season with a seven-game point-scoring streak, including multiple points in each of the last four. In 49 career games, Mangano has compiled 81 points on 42 goals and 39 assists. She is seventh on the school's career assist list and tied for 20th on the all-time points list.

UNH ended the season with a 7-10 overall record. For the third consecutive season, the Wildcats advanced to the America East Championships and, as a No. 4 seed, they were defeated by top-seeded Boston University, 18-7.
