WAKEFIELD, Mass. – Freshman defender Alexis Crossley (Cole Harbour, Nova Scotia) was tabbed as the Pro Ambitions Rookie of the Week as announced by Hockey East Monday afternoon.
Crossley played a vital role in the Wildcats' 4-3 victory over fourth-ranked Boston College Saturday as she tallied a pair of goals and an assist. The freshman got New Hampshire on the board in the first period with her second goal of the season at the 11:11 mark and assisted on the game-tying goal in the third period. Just over a minute later in the third, Crossley scored the game-winning goal on a power play, ultimately helping the 'Cats to a 4-3 victory.
Through five games, Crossley has a total of four points on three goals and an assist thus far and has notched 11 shots on goal from the blue line. Two of her three goals have been on power plays.
The Wildcats return to action Friday when they take on Wisconsin in the first of a two-game series. Friday's start time is slated for 8:00 p.m.
