UNH'S PATON NAMED TO HOCKEY CANADA SELECTION CAMP
CALGARY, AlbertaKelly Paton (Woodstock, Ontario), who will be a sophomore on the 2007-08 University of New Hampshire women’s ice hockey team, was one of 38 players selected by Hockey Canada to compete at its National Women’s Under-22 Team selection camp, which will be held Aug. 9-19 at York University (Toronto, Ontario).

At the conclusion of this camp, at which Paton is one of 24 forwards, a roster of 22 players will be finalized to compete against the U.S. Under-22 Select Team in a three-game exhibition series from Aug. 23-26 at Lake Placid, N.Y.

Paton, whose 2007 collegiate honors included Hockey East Mission All-Rookie Team and Hockey East All-Tournament Team, ranked No. 13 in the nation in rookie scoring at 0.92 points per game last year as a Wildcat. She recorded 13 goals and 19 assists for 32 points in playing all 37 games, and those numbers ranked third on the team in both points and assists as well as fourth in goals. Furthermore, Paton was second among Wildcats in both plus/minus (+32) and shooting percentage, and she tied for the team lead in shorthanded goals with two.
