WAKEFIELD, Mass. - Lindsay Hansen (Northport, N.Y.), a junior forward on the University of New Hampshire women's ice hockey team, was named Player of the Month (November) by Hockey East on Wednesday night.
Hansen led the Wildcats with three goals and nine assists for 12 points in six November games, including three goals and four assists in two Hockey East league games. She began the month of November by matching her career high of two goals against Northeastern University. Hansen also matched her career highs in both assists (four) and points (five) later that month vs. NU. In a three-game span, she recorded one goal and nine assists for 10 points. Her honors in November included Hockey East Player of the Week on Nov. 22.
Hansen leads the Wildcats in assists (12) and is second in points (16). Those numbers rank No. 9 in the nation in assists (1.00 per game) and 21st in points (1.33 ppg). She has five multiple-point games and has recorded a point in seven of 12 games.
UNH players have won both Player of the Month honors in the 2004-05 season, as goaltender Melissa Bourdon (Ile Bizard, Quebec) received that distinction for October.
New Hampshire returns to action at home Dec. 4 against the University of Connecticut. Game time at the Whittemore Center is 2 p,m.
