WAKEFIELD, Mass. - Kristine Butt (Pembroke, Mass.), a senior forward on the sixth-ranked University of New Hampshire women's ice hockey team, was named the TPS Louisville Player of the Week by Women's Hockey East on Monday.
Butt recorded four points with three goals and an assist in UNH's two-game weekend sweep of Niagara. She scored a career-high three goals in Sunday's 6-2 victory. With UNH leading 3-1 in the second period, Butt scored the first of three consecutive goals to give the 'Cat's a three-goal lead. She extended UNH's lead to 5-1 with 1:16 elapsed in the final frame and scored on a breakaway to complete the hat trick.
Butt currently has eight goals and three assists for 11 points. The eight tallies rank second on the team and is a personal single-season high.
