DURHAM, N.H – Kristin Cole, head coach of the University of New Hampshire women’s basketball team, has announced the hiring of Morgan Valley as assistant coach, effective immediately.

“I am extremely excited to have Morgan Valley join our staff,” Cole said. “Her work ethic, passion for the game and her ability to relate to our players will make an immediate impact on the program. She is a great addition to the UNH family.”

Valley, a 2005 University of Connecticut graduate, served as assistant coach at the College of the Holy Cross from 2005-07. During her two years at Holy Cross the Crusaders made it to back-to-back Patriot League championship games, winning the title in 2007 en route to a NCAA appearance.

“Morgan is a proven winner as evident by winning three national championships while playing at UConn and helping lead Holy Cross to last year’s NCAA tournament,” Cole added.

While at Connecticut, Valley was a four-year letterwinner with the Huskies from 2001-2004 and was a part of three NCAA national championship teams. She was a member of the All-Big East Travel Team in 2001. In her four years at UConn, the Huskies' record was 139-8.

In 2004, Valley was the Director of the Basketball Hall of Fame clinics in Springfield, Mass. She also served as the co-director of the Valley and Valley Girls Basketball Camp in Burlington, Vt. Valley was both a commissioner and a counselor at the Geno Auriemma Girls Basketball Camp in Storrs, Conn.
