DURHAM, N.H. - University of New Hampshire women's basketball coach Sue Johnson announced Monday that Megan Connolly (Nashua, N.H.) has joined the Wildcat program and will be on the 2003-04 roster. Connolly becomes the sixth first-year player on this season's squad.
Connolly is a 2003 graduate of Nashua High School, where she was a member of the perennial Class L power Purple Panther girls basketball program. Connolly was a member of Nashua squads that captured Class L titles in 2001 and 2003. A McDonald's High School All-America nominee, Connolly missed most of her senior season with a back injury. She also lettered in volleyball where she was a first team All-State selection and led Nashua to a Class L title in 2002. Connolly was named Nashua High School's Athlete of the Year.
The Wildcats will take the court for the first time Friday, November 7 when they host Herzogenberg (Austria) in an exhibition to prepare for the 2003-04 season in a 7:00 game at Lundholm Gymnasium. The UNH women's basketball team opens the regular season Tuesday, November 25, when it hosts St. Bonaventure in a 7:00 game at Lundholm.
