Men’s Cross Country Takes 21st at Northeast Regional
MADISON, Conn. – Sophomore John Prizzi (Wyckoff, N.J.) placed 75th overall to lead the University of New Hampshire men's cross country team to a 21st-place finish at the 34-team NCAA Northeast Regional Friday afternoon at Hammonassett State Park.
The Wildcats totaled 542 points, while the Iona finished with 45 points to claim the victory.
Prizzi completed the 10-kilometer course in a time of 31:57.4. The New Jersey native had a strong finish at the end of the season after he most recently took 12th overall at the 2012 America East Championship.
Junior Joseph Jourdain (Hudson, N.H.) turned-in a 97th-place finish as he crossed the finish line in a time of 31:26.4, while fellow sophomore Jeff Moretti (Guilford, Conn.) finished 118th in a time of 32:42.6.
Senior Dan DeCrescenzo (New Milford, Conn.) and junior Sean Leighton (Hampstead, N.H.) finished 112th and 130th, respectively, in times of 32:44.3 and 32:50.3 to round out the Wildcat scorers.
