MEN'S CROSS COUNTRY KICKS OFF SEASON AT BRYANT INVITE
SMITHFIELD, R.I. – Junior Alex Beaulieu (Merrimack, N.H.) finished eighth overall to lead the University of New Hampshire men's cross country team as it began the season at the 87-runner Bryant Invitational on Friday afternoon.
Beaulieu finished the five-kilometer run in a time of 16 minutes, 37.73 seconds.
Freshman Joseph Jourdain (Hudson, N.H.) placed 11th in a time of 16:42.36, while classmate Sean Leighton (Hampstead, N.H.) was 16th at 17:04.83.
Freshman John Corona (Middletown, Conn.) and sophomores Nick Mancuso (New Paltz, N.Y.) and Sidney Griffin (Barrington, R.I.) finished 18th, 19th and 20th, respectively in times of 17:15.63, 17:16.18 and 17:17.90.
Sophomore Mike Ryan (Dallas, Pa.), junior Bill Godfrey (Merrimack, N.H.) and sophomore Louis Saviano (Hampstead, N.H.) placed 24th, 25th and 26th, respectively, in times of 17:21.23, 17:22.35 and 17:24.44.
The Wildcats return to action Saturday, Sept. 11 (2:30 p.m.) at the Boston College Invitational.
