DURHAM, N.H. – The University of New Hampshire men's and women's cross country teams have been ranked in regional polls by the U.S. Track & Field and Cross Country Coaches Association (USTFCCCA). The teams were also ranked highly in their respective America East Preseason Coaches Polls.
The women's cross country team is currently ranked 10th in the Northeast Region according to the USTFCCCA's annual preseason regional rankings that were released Monday.

The men's cross country team, meanwhile, is ranked 11th in the Northeast Region, and were voted third in the America East poll. The squad finished second at the conference championships last season.
The USTFCCCA's regional rankings are a reflection of a team's strengths entering the year based on returning and new runners on each squad, and are selected by a representative in each region.
The Wildcats kick off their season at the Bryant Invitational in Smithfield R.I., on Friday at 4 p.m.
