ORONO, Maine – Senior Brent Powers (Remsen, N.Y.) finished 12th overall to pace the University of New Hampshire men’s cross country team as it placed third at Saturday afternoon’s Murray Keatinge Invitational at the University of Maine.

The Wildcats finished with 100 points, behind Dartmouth College (28) and Yale University (54), but ahead of Boston College (102), Maine (135), the College of the Holy Cross (166), the University of New Brunswick (199) and Central Connecticut State University (203).

Powers completed the five-mile run in 25 minutes, 27.49 seconds.

Junior Wesley Dinnan (Juneau, Alaska), last week’s America East Performer of the Week, and senior Nick Decrescenzo (New Milford, Conn.) also finished inside the top 20, placing 16th and 19th, respectively. Dinnan finished in a time of 25:33.83, while Decrescenzo came across the line at 25:34.76.

Senior Ben Jenkins (Francestown, N.H.) placed 29th in a time of 25:52.49, while junior Josh Kearns (Ridgefield, Conn.) was 32nd in 25:59.21.

Senior Marc Ouellette (Hopkinton, N.H.) placed 39th in the 87-runner field in a time of 26:18.26.

The Wildcats return to action Saturday, Oct. 11 at the New England Championships at Franklin Park in Boston.
