DURHAM, N.H. – Senior Max Hoddwells (Wayne, Maine) and junior Kevin Greene (Silver Spring, Md.) were selected as members of the 2013 America East Outdoor Track All-Academic Team, as announced by the conference Thursday.
Hoddwells, a kinesiology/exercise science major with a 3.59 grade point average, was named to the team for the first time in his career. The senior had a stellar outdoor season for the Wildcats, racking up five first-place finishes. Most recently, Hoddwells took gold in the triple jump at the NEICAAA Outdoor Track & Field Championships, leaping a distance of 14.83 meters. Overall, he tallied 12 results in the top-five.
Greene, an English teaching major with a 3.43 GPA, earned the distinction for the first time in his career. Earlier in the year, the junior was tabbed to the 2012-13 America East Indoor Track All-Academic Team. Greene has been a model of consistency in his events. Overall, he has 12 top-five finishes, five of which were gold medal performances. In his most recent competition, Greene took second place in the finals portion of the 1,500 meter run IC4A/ECAC DI Outdoor Track & Field Championships. Blazing down the track to a time of 3:47.91.
