Men's Track & Field Finishes Fifth at America East Championships

VESTAL, N.Y. – The University of New Hampshire men's track and field team finished the America East Championships in fifth place after the final day of the event. The Championships were held at Binghamton University.

Albany took first place with a total of 230.5 points while UMBC came in second with 176 points. Maine took third with 121 points as Binghamton edged UNH with 117 points. Vermont (63.5), Stony Brook (27) and Hartford (6) rounded out the remainder of the field.

Kevin Greene (Silver Spring, Md.) took second place in the 1,500 meter run. He crossed the finish line with a time of 3:47.58. Matthew Guarente (Saugus, Mass.) also finished in second in the high jump, clearing a height of 1.99 meters.

Max Hoddwells (Wayne, Maine) took silver in the triple jump event, earning New Hampshire eight points. He hit a mark of 14.66 meters. 

In the 4x800 relay, the team of Luke Miller (Birdsboro, Pa.), David Gervais (Nashua, N.H.), Zachary Chabot (Manchester, N.H.) and Greene collectively earned a third place finish in the event with a time of 7:38.02.

Greene gave the Wildcats five points in the 800 meter run when he crossed the line with a time 1:53.51. Hoddwells took fourth place in the 110 meter hurdles, leaping his way to a time of 15.24.
