CAMBRIDGE, Mass. – For the second time in as many weeks, senior Brice Paey (Milton, N.H.) of the University of New Hampshire men's indoor track & field team was named the America East Field Performer of the Week, announced by the league Tuesday afternoon.
Paey tossed his way to a second straight weekly honor after recording the fifth best shot put throw in the nation this season with a distance of 17.70 meters. That qualifies the senior for the IC4A Championships and easily won him the event against Maine, also helping the Wildcats to a 94-87 victory.
Paey, the Wildcat record holder in the shot put, also won the event at the season-opening Jay Carisella Carnival with a toss of 17.66 meters, besting a field of 39 throwers from across the region.
The Wildcats return to action on January 21, 2011 when they welcome Holy Cross and Stonehill to the Paul Sweet Oval at 12 p.m.
