NEW ORLEANS – The U.S. Track & Field and Cross Country Coaches Association (USTFCCCA) released its national computer rankings for NCAA Division I Outdoor Track & Field on Tuesday, and four members of the University of New Hampshire track and field teams were represented in the Northeast rankings.
On the men's side, graduate student Paul DeTurk (Durham, N.H.) is ranked third in the hammer throw with a toss of 59.65m while junior Max Hoddwells (Wayne, Maine) comes in at seventh in the triple jump with a leap of 14.02m. Both marks were good enough for first-place finishes at the Wildcat Invitational I on Saturday, April 9.
For the women, senior Sydney Fitzpatrick (Billerica, Mass.) is ranked fifth in the 3000m steeplechase with a time of 10:33.32, set in the first week of the outdoor season on April 1 at the Sam Howell Invitational.
Graduate student Rita Ciambra (Hanover, N.H.) comes in at eighth in the pole vault after clearing a height of 3.57m for a first-place finish at the Wildcat Invitational I last weekend.
The Wildcats return to action on Saturday, April 16 when they play host to the Wildcat Invitational II at the Reggie F. Atkins Track & Field Facility.
