BOSTON – Seniors Anthony Vorachak (Lebanon, N.H.) and Paul DeTurk (Durham, N.H.) posted respective 10th- and 12th-place finishes to pace the University of New Hampshire men's indoor track & field team on the first day of the IC4A Championships at Boston University's Track & Tennis Center on Saturday.
Vorachak had the best finish of the day for the Wildcats, who currently do not have a team score. Vorachak finished 10th in the heptathlon with 2,700 points.
DeTurk was 12th in the weight throw with a toss of 55 feet, 10.25 inches. Sophomore Cameron Lyle (Plaistow, N.H.) was 24th with a mark of 51-7.25.
The Wildcats' 4x800-meter relay team of freshmen Jacob Critelli (Southbury, Conn.) and Kevin Greene, and juniors Sean Mitchell (Milford, Mass.) and Bill Godfrey (Merrimack, N.H.), placed 16th in a time of seven minutes, 46.72 seconds.
Junior Jake McDougle (Walpole, N.H.) ran to a 28th-place finish in the 1,000 meters in a time of 2:30.48.
Graduate student Tyler Dinnan (Juneau, Alaska) was 28th in the mile in a time of 4:13.52.
Freshman Joseph Jourdain (Hudson, N.H.) finished 32nd in the 3,000 meters in a time of 8:40.00.
The Wildcats will wrap up the IC4As on Sunday, while the women will compete at the ECAC Championships, as well.
