Men’s Track & Field Takes Part in Dartmouth Indoor Classic

HANOVER, N.H. – The University of New Hampshire men's indoor track & field team won four events as it took part in the non-scoring Dartmouth Indoor Classic on Saturday at Leverone Field House.

Sophomores Matthew Guarente (Saugus, Mass.) and Jason Guarente (Saugus, Mass.) placed first and second, respectively, in the high jump with leaps of six feet, 8.25 inches and 6-6.

Graduate student Tyler Dinnan (Juneau, Alaska) was victorious in the mile run in a time of four minutes, 17.62 seconds. Senior Josh Kearns (Ridgefield, Conn.) was second at 4:17.93.

Junior Jake McDougle (Walpole, N.H.) submitted a first-place finish in the 800 meters in a time of 1:55.82. Freshman Kevin Greene was second at 1:57.60.

The Wildcats' 4x400-meter relay team placed first in a time of 3:28.26. The 4x200 squad was second at 1:34.10.

Junior Bill Godfrey (Merrimack, N.H.) finished second in the 500 meters in a time of 1:06.42, just one-one hundredth of a second behind the winner.

Sophomore Mike Marshall (Salem, N.H.) placed second in the 60-meter hurdles in a time of 8.53, just six-one hundredths of a second behind the winner.

Freshman Joseph Jourdain (Hudson, N.H.) finished second in the 3,000 meters in a time of 8:43.39.

The Wildcats return to action Saturday, Feb. 12 against the University of Vermont at the Paul Sweet Oval.
