DURHAM, N.H. – The University of New Hampshire outdoor track & field team has sent seven qualifiers to the NCAA East Regional that will take place May 27-29 at North Carolina A&T State University's Irwin Bell Track in Greensboro, N.C.

Graduate student Jeff Kaste (Atkinson, N.H.), as well as seniors Brice Paey (Milton, N.H.), Paul DeTurk (Durham, N.H.) and Matt O'Connor (Rhinebeck, N.Y.) will compete for the men, while seniors Erica Jesseman (Scarborough, Maine), Ashlee Lathrop (Sherburne, N.Y.) and Rita Ciambra (Hanover, N.H.) all qualified on the women's side.

DeTurk, along with Kaste, will compete in the hammer throw Thursday at 11 a.m. The pair finished first and second, respectively, at the America East Championships, before submitting respective second- and fourth-place finishes at New Englands. Kaste then placed seventh at IC4As, while DeTurk was 12th.

Paey, meanwhile, will compete Friday at 3 p.m. in the shot put, the event in which he captured his third straight conference title this season before runner-up finishes at both New Englands and IC4As.

O'Connor will run in the 3,000-meter steeplechase Friday at 8:30 p.m. O'Connor placed fourth at the America East Championships and was sixth at IC4As.

Jesseman runs the 10,000m Thursday at 9:15 p.m. Jesseman was runner-up in the event at the America East Championships before capturing the title the following weekend at New Englands.

Lathrop will toss the hammer Friday at 11 a.m. She won her second consecutive conference title in the event before respective third- and fifth-place finishes at New Englands and ECACs.

Ciambra will compete in the pole vault Friday at 4 p.m. She captured titles at New Englands and ECACs, as well as her second at the America East Championships where she set the all-time conference championship record.
