MEN'S OUTDOOR TRACK & FIELD 19TH AFTER DAY TWO AT IC4A CHAMPIONSHIPS
PRINCETON, N.J. - Senior
Matt O'Connor (Rhinebeck, N.Y.) and graduate
student Jeff Kaste (Atkinson, N.H.) each submitted
top-10 performances as the University of New Hampshire men's
outdoor track & field team moved to 19th overall after two days
at the 33-squad IC4A Championships at Princeton's Weaver
Stadium.
The Wildcats have totaled five points, while Liberty (39),
Princeton (27) and Connecticut (25) are currently first, second and
third, respectively.
O'Connor placed sixth in the 3,000-meter steeplechase in a time of
eight minutes, 56.42 seconds.
Kaste finished seventh in the hammer throw with a toss of 58.94
meters. Senior Paul DeTurk (Durham, N.H.) and
junior John Randall (Boscawen, N.H.) placed 12th
and 26th, respectively, with marks of 56.83m and 51.66m.
Senior Marc Ouellette (Hopkinton, N.H.) placed
34th in the 1,500m in a time of 4:06.10. Senior Wesley Dinnan (Juneau, Alaska) was also 34th in the 5,000m in
15:04.97.
The 'Cats return to action May 28-29 at the NCAA East Regional at
North Carolina A&T in Greensboro, N.C.
