DETURK PACES MEN'S TRACK & FIELD AT NEW ENGLAND CHAMPIONSHIPS
DEDHAM, Mass. - Senior
Paul DeTurk (Durham, N.H.) submitted a
second-place finish to lead the University of New Hampshire men's
outdoor track & field team at the New England Championships on
Friday at Northeastern's Solomon Track.
Overall team scoring has not been tallied yet and will be
announced with the final results upon Saturday's
conclusion.
DeTurk finished second in the hammer throw with a toss of 57.26m,
just a week after winning his first America East title in the
event. Graduate student Jeff Kaste (Atkinson,
N.H.) was fourth at 55.89m.
Sophomore Renrick Pesce (New Hartford, Conn.)
placed third in the decathlon after totaling 5,770 points.
Senior Chris Morgan (Goffstown, N.H.) was fifth
in the javelin with a throw of 60.14m.
Junior Alex Macleod (East Longmeadow, Mass.)
finished sixth in the 400-meter hurdles preliminary in a time of
54.09 to move on to Saturday's final.
The Wildcats return to action on the final day of the New England
Championships on Saturday, May 8.
