ORONO, Maine – Freshman Victor Adejuyigbe (Penacook, N.H.) won three events to lead the University of New Hampshire men's outdoor track & field team to a first-place finish in a tri-meet at the University of Maine's Beckett Family Track & Field Complex on Saturday afternoon.

The Wildcats amassed 158 points to finish ahead of both Bates College (107) and Maine (106).

Adejuyigbe was first in the 100 meters in 11.24 seconds, the 200m in 22.54 seconds, and was part of the 4x100-meter relay team, along with seniors Frank Radlof (Milford, N.H.) and Will Brehm (Pembroke, N.H.), and junior Wesley Cotnoir (Auburn, N.H.), that finished first in a time of 43.95 seconds. The 4x400-meter relay team of sophomore Sean Mitchell (Shrewsbury, Mass.), junior Christopher Janczyk (Bristol, Conn.), freshman Nicholas Aubut (Goffstown, N.H.) and junior Alex Macleod (East Longmeadow, Mass.), also won in three minutes, 27.99 seconds.

Senior Brice Paey (Milton, N.H.) won the shot put with a throw of 13.23 meters, while graduate student Jeff Kaste (Atkinson, N.H.) was third at 15.05m. Kaste was victorious in the discus with a toss of 46.44m.

In the javelin junior Michael Simon (Durham, Conn.) and senior Chris Morgan (Goffstown, N.H.) placed first and second, respectively, with throws of 58.07m and 53.44m.

In the triple jump, sophomore Max Hoddwells (Wayne, Maine) and freshman Garrett Finn (Lebanon, N.H.) finished first and second, respectively, with leaps of 13.23m and 13.14m.

Junior John Donaghy (Sutton, N.H.) tied with Bates' Jerome Bennett for the best mark in the pole vault, but Donaghy finished second as it took Bennett fewer attempts to reach 4.19m. Sophomore Renrick Pesce (New Hartford, Conn.) was third at 4.04m.

Back on the track, the Wildcats swept the top three spots in the 1500m, with senior Marc Ouellette (Hopkinton, N.H.), freshman Corey Duchemin (Manchester, N.H.) and sophomore Dan Decrescenzo (New Milford, Conn.) placing first, second and third, respectively. The trio submitted respective finishes of 4:05.97, 4:09.91 and 4:12.29.

In the 800m, senior Josh Kearns (Ridgefield, Conn.) and grad student Ben Jenkins (Francestown, N.H.) finished first and second, respectively, in times of 1:58.61 and 1:58.63.

The 'Cats return to action Saturday, April 3 at 11 a.m. when they play host to the College of the Holy Cross, Maine and Northeastern University in a quad-meet at the Reggie F. Atkins Track.
