CAMBRIDGE, Mass. — Travis Worra (Lancaster, Pa.) a freshman goalkeeper for the University of New Hampshire men's soccer team, was honored as the America East Rookie of the Week by the conference Monday afternoon.
Worra registered five saves in his first collegiate shutout, leading the Wildcats to a 1-0 victory in their only contest of the week against Adelphi University (Sept. 16). His save total tied a career high, as he also tallied fives saves earlier this season in UNH's 2-1 victory against Rhode Island (Aug. 26).
He currently ranks fourth among league leaders averaging 3.80 saves per game this season. Additionally, Worra ranks sixth in save percentage (.704) and eighth in goals against average (1.60).
The Wildcats are back in action when they return home to host the 22nd Annual Nike Fall Classic, opening the tournament against Air Force Friday, Sept. 23 (7 p.m.) at Bremner Field.
