Lewisburg, Pa.- Sophomore Dylan George (Bangor, Maine) tallied a goal and an assist to rally the University of New Hampshire men’s soccer team to a 2-2 draw with Hartwick College on Friday evening in the opening game of the Bucknell Invitational.
The No. 7 regionally-ranked Wildcats remain unbeaten with a record of 3-0-2, while the Hawks’ adjust to 1-2-3.
The Hawks drew first with a goal by Steven Amaya just over nine minutes into the game, but the Wildcats evened the score less than ten minutes later.

Sophomore forward Chris Banks (Westborough, Mass.) headed the ball into the goal at 17:39 to put the ‘Cats back in the game, 1-1. George made the crossing pass to earn the assist on the goal.
Once again the Hawks pulled ahead, 2-1, on goal by John Paul Boyle at 59:15. With under nine minutes to play in regulation senior forward Kyle Urso (Lombard, Ill.) crossed the ball from the left side, giving George a point blank shot, which got past Hartwick goalkeeper Jeremy Vuolo at 81:54.
In the final minutes of regulation, Banks fired off three shots on goal, including a header with less than a minute to play, but Vuolo was able to stop all attempts, sending the game into extra minutes. Banks finished the game with six shots, including five on net, while Urso had four for the Wildcats.
Each team rifled off a shot in overtime. The Hawks’ lone shot was blocked by the Wildcat defense, while New Hampshire’s shot by Banks with five minutes remaining went wide left.
Sophomore goalkeeper Colin O’Donnell (Springfield, Mass.) recorded three saves in the game for the Wildcats, while Vuolo tallied seven for the Hawks. The Wildcats outshot its opponent, 15-12.
The Wildcats continue action at the Bucknell Invitational when they face Cornell on Sunday, Sept. 14 at noon.
