MEN'S SOCCER DEFEATS NO. 23 CENTRAL CONNECTICUT, 2-0
BURLINGTON, VT. – UNH men’s soccer defeated No. 23 Central Connecticut, 2-0, in the opening match of the UVM Smith Barney Classic Friday afternoon at the University of Vermont.
Sophomore Mike McKee (Newtown, Pa.) scored the first goal 13 minutes into the match on a point blank header with assists from Pedro Braz (East Providence, R.I.) and John Bergqvist (Hollviken, Sweden).
    Sophomore Dan Cripe (Raymond, N.H.) volleyed a 10-yarder into the open net for the Wildcats’ second score of the game while midfielder Geoff Sanford (Johnson City, N.Y.) assisted on the play.
UNH outshot Central Connecticut 16-13 while goalkeeper Brian Levey (Pittsburgh, Pa.) made three saves in net for the Wildcats. 
    New Hampshire (3-0-2) continues play in the tournament when it faces off against Cornell Sunday morning at 11 a.m.
    The Wildcats posted a tie in the first game of last year’s tournament with a 0-0 score versus then No. 23 San Francisco.
