MEN'S SOCCER SHUTS DOWN LONG ISLAND, 2-0

    The University of New Hampshire men’s soccer team took the first game of the Dartmouth Invitational with a 2-0 win over Long Island University Friday afternoon at Dartmouth College played at Chase Fields.
    Sophomore midfielder Kyle Urso (Lombard, Ill.) scored the first goal unassisted five minutes into the match to put the Wildcats on top 1-0.
    New Hampshire added another insurance goal at the 42-minute mark when junior forward Bryan Stewart (Swanzey, N.H.) directed the ball into net on a pass from junior forward Adam Marcellus (Malvern, Pa.).
    LIU outshot New Hampshire 11-6.  Senior goaltender Brian Levey (Pittsburgh, Pa.) made two saves in net for the Wildcats.  Jeremy Wimer made three saves for LIU while allowing two goals.
New Hampshire (2-0-1) continues play in the tournament when it faces host Dartmouth Sunday afternoon at 3 p.m.
