BURLINGTON, Vt. -- The NSCAA announced Wednesday that University of New Hampshire men’s soccer senior goalkeeper Brian Levey (Pittsburgh, Pa./North Allegheny), freshman forward Chris Banks (Westborough, Mass./Westborough) and junior back John Bergqvist (Hollviken, Sweden) were all named to the Division I All-Northeast Region Team.
    Levey and Banks were named to the Second Team, while Bergqvist was selected to the Third Team.
    Levey, who was named America East Goalkeeper of the Year for the second straight season last month, started all 20 games in net for the Wildcats this season, posting a 12-5-3 record with 10 shutouts, a .872 save percentage and 0.57 goals against average.  Levey, who was also named First Team All-Conference for the second consecutive season, is the Wildcats’ all-time leader in career shutouts with 27.
    Banks, who was named America East Striker of the Year and America East Rookie of the Year this season, played in all 20 games, leading the conference in goals (14) and points (28).  Banks, who was also named First Team All-Conference and to the conference’s All-Rookie Team, had four game-winning goals this season.
    Bergqvist, who was named Second Team All-Conference this season after being named to the conference’s All-Rookie Team last year, played in 15 games, recording two goals and an assist en route to tallying five points.  Bergqvist also helped anchor the strong Wildcat defense, which along with Levey recorded a conference-high 10 shutouts.
    The Wildcats posted a 12-5-3 overall record this season including 6-2-1 in the America East.  The team, whose record was its best since 1994, made it to the semifinals of the conference tournament before it fell to No. 2 University of Vermont, 1-0.
