MISSION, Kan. - 2004 UNH men's soccer co-captains Tyler Jackson (Amherst, N.H.) and Eric Masi (York, Maine) continue to garner postseason honors, as they have been named Second Team All-New England by the NSCAA/adidas All-America Committee.
This honor comes one month after both players were named First Team All-America East by the conference coaches. Jackson and Masi helped the Wildcats qualify for the America East Conference Tournament, where they lost on a penalty kick shootout after playing Binghamton to a 0-0 tie after 110 minutes.
Jackson, a Third Team All-New England selection last season, moved to central defense but still made a significant impact for the Wildcats offensively. He led the squad with two game-winning tallies, scoring the only goal in UNH's victories over Northeastern and Dartmouth.
Masi made a major contribution as a midfielder, setting up the offense and controlling the action for the Wildcats. He scored goals in New Hampshire's 2-1 victory over UMBC and in UNH's 4-2 win at Hartford.
Jackson and Masi are two of ten players from America East schools named to one of the three All-New England teams. Vermont forward Tony Anderson was the only America East athlete named to the first team. New Hampshire joins Vermont and Boston University as the only America East schools with multiple honorees on the All-New England teams.
