DURHAM, N.H. - The University of New Hampshire men's soccer team is ranked third in this week's National Soccer Coaches Association of America (NSCAA) New England Region poll released Tuesday afternoon. The Wildcats (5-2-0) are ranked third for the second straight week.

New Hampshire won its only game last week, defeating Maine 1-0 Wednesday, September 17 in Orono. The Black Bears are ranked ninth in this week's rankings. Nicholas Mello (Rehoboth, Mass.) netted the game winner for the 'Cats in the 59th minute, while Mike Vignola (Hudson, N.H.) made six saves in goal en route to his third shutout of the season.

UNH's next four games are all against teams ranked in this week's poll. Saturday (9/27) the 'Cats face No. 4 Massachusetts in a 4:00 pm game at Bremner Field. That game will be followed by a game against fifth-ranked Dartmouth on October 1 at home, a October 8 tilt at No. 6 Boston University and an October 12 home game against No. 7 Hartford.
