MEN'S SOCCER JUMPS TO SECOND IN NSCAA NEW ENGLAND POLL

DURHAM, N.H. - The University of New Hampshire men's soccer team moved up two spots to second in the weekly NSCAA Division I New England region ranking released Monday afternoon. The Wildcats (3-1-0) trail only the University of Connecticut in this week's poll.

UNH split a pair of games last weekend at the Smith Barney Soccer Classic hosted by Vermont. The 'Cats posted a 2-0 win over Vanderbilt on Sunday (9/7) after suffering a 3-0 defeat at the hands of No. 5 North Carolina. Brendan Hankard (Glastonbury, Conn.) and Brett Wyman (Durham, N.H.) were named to the All-Tournament Team at the Smith Barney Classic.

New Hampshire gets back into action this weekend at the John Byrden Classic hosted by the University of Denver. The Wildcats face Air Force on Friday (9/12) before taking on the host Pioneers Sunday (9/14). Both games start at 3:30 pm EDT (1:30 local time). The next UNH home game is September 27 when the 'Cats host Massachusetts at 4 p.m. at Bremner Field.
