WEST HARTFORD, Conn. - Nicola Chicco (Claymont, Del.) had a pair of goals to lead the University of New Hampshire men's soccer team to Saturday night's 2-1 victory over the University of Hartford at Al-Marzook Field. The Wildcats now ride a four-game unbeaten streak and improved to 8-3-2 overall and 2-1-2 in America East. The Hawks drop to 5-8 and 3-2 in the league.

Chicco's first goal came at the 19:25 mark to give the 'Cats a 1-0 lead. UNH would take that 1-0 lead into the locker room at halftime, and Chicco's second goal at the 50:27 mark made it 2-0. Freshman Eric Masi (York, Maine) assisted on both tallies.

Hartford would get their only tally in the 58th minute as they took advantage of an own goal by New Hampshire.

Mike Vignola (Hudson, N.H.) made three saves for UNH, while Ryan Carr turned away five Wildcat shots as both sides managed to fire 11 shot attempts.

UNH returns to action next Saturday (Oct. 26) when it hosts Boston University in a key America East matchup. The Terriers have been ranked as high as ninth nationally this season. Game time at Lewis Field is set for 2 p.m.
