DURHAM, N.H. - The University of New Hampshire men's soccer team will prepare for the 2003 season by taking an 11-day, 10-night trip to Europe from August 14-25. The Wildcats will stay in Holland for the trip and play matches against clubs from Holland, Belgium and Germany.
"This is a great opportunity for our team to prepare for the 2003 season against some top-flight competition as well as give the players a great experience," said UNH head coach Rob Thompson. "The whole team is really looking forward to August."
While in Europe, UNH will play a total of six matches against top club teams from Holland, Belgium and Germany. The 'Cats will also get the opportunity to do some sightseeing in all three countries. Next season, the Wildcats return 9 of 11 starters from a 2002 squad that finished 10-5-2, made their second-straight America East tournament appearance and fell in the conference semifinals to eventual champion Northeastern. UNH returns five all-conference honorees in 2003. The season opens August 29th with the 14th annual Nike Fall Soccer Classic.
