DURHAM, N.H. - The University of New Hampshire men's soccer team recently wrapped up the spring schedule in preparation for the 2002 season. The Wildcats closed out the spring with a pair of victories.

On April 21, UNH played host to Boston College and Dartmouth. The 'Cats fell to the Eagles 2-1, with Josh Hareld (N. Kingstown, R.I.) netting the New Hampshire goal, then were blanked by intrastate rival Dartmouth 2-0.

Saturday, April 27 saw the Wildcats post a pair of wins over Granite State Division II power Franklin Pierce (3-0) and America East rival Maine (2-1). Hareld, the team's leading scorer last season, had a goal in the win over the Ravens, while Nicola Chicco (Claymont, Del.) and Logan Lee (Racine, Wis.) also had tallies. Josh McGeachey (Cape Elizabeth, Maine) and Nicholas Mello (Rehoboth, Mass.) scored against the Black Bears, with Mello notching the game-winner.

The UNH men's soccer program is looking to build on a 2001 campaign that saw them advance to the America East tournament for the first time since the 1994 season, posting a 5-4-2 mark in conference play (7-8-3 overall).
