HAMPTON, N.H. - The University of New Hampshire men's soccer team captured the indoor soccer tournament held this past weekend at the Seacoast United Arena, defeating a team from the Boston Bulldogs organization 3-2 in overtime in the finals to capture the crown.
"It was a good all-around effort by our team," said UNH assistant coach Kevin Korondi. "The kids came out and played hard and it was a good start to our preparations for next season."
The Wildcats opened up with a 4-2 victory over Worcester State, and followed that up with a pair of 2-2 ties against Oneonta State and Tufts. The 'Cats then defeated a team comprised of UNH alumni 2-0 to advance to the finals against the Bulldogs.
Other teams that competed in the tourney included America East rival Maine, Division II powers Southern New Hampshire and St. Anselm, along with Bowdoin and Colby.
