WEST HARTFORD, Conn. - The University of Hartford posted a 1-0 victory over the University of New Hampshire in men's soccer action here this afternoon. The win improves the Hawks to 6-6-3 overall and 2-2-2 in America East, while the Wildcats fall to 5-7-0 and 2-3-0 in the league.
Hartford would net the game's only goal in the 30th minute. Peter Sjolin would score off a deflection by New Hampshire keeper Shaun O'Neil (Wrentham, Mass.) in front of the net to give the Hawks all the offense they would need.
The Wildcats held a 12-9 advantage in shots for the contest.
O'Neil would turn away four shots, while Hawk keeper Chris Doyle made seven saves en route to the shutout.
The Wildcats return home this Friday (10/20) to face Towson University. Game time at Lewis Field is 3:00 p.m.
