DURHAM, N.H. – The University of New Hampshire men's ice hockey program and the athletic department are happy to announce that Saturday, Nov. 10 will be UNH Hockey Alumni Night at the Whittemore Center. The Wildcats will take on Hockey East rival Vermont at 7 p.m.
The event, organized by the athletic department and the Office of Athletics Development, will include a pre-game gathering and a PA read honoring those alumni in attendance.
"We are happy to have our alumni back for Saturday's game," Head Coach Dick Umile said. "The UNH men's hockey program has a proud and lengthy history and it will be great to have them out to support this year's team. The support we receive from our alumni is tremendous and it will be special to have a night to recognize them as they support our team against Vermont."
"As a season ticket holder, I am always excited to see former teammates and players at the Whitt supporting our great program," Jim Abbott '03 said. "This season is off to a strong start with Coach Umile earning his 500th win on home ice along with a hard fought last minute 4-3 victory against Northeastern on a well-deserved (John) Henrion goal. I am looking forward to the Alumni night on the 10th."
The ninth ranked Wildcats (5-1-1) are off to their best start since 2007-08. UNH is a perfect 3-0-0 at home this season. Fans interested in coming to the game can purchase tickets online at UNHWildcats.com or by calling the Whittemore Center Box Office at 603-862-4000.
