Men's Hockey Draws 3rd-Seeded Boston U. in HE Quarterfinals; Ticket Information Available; Saturday's Game to Air on NESN
DURHAM, N.H. -- The University of New Hampshire men's hockey team finished sixth in the Hockey East standings and has drawn third-seeded Boston University in the Hockey East quarterfinals.
The Terriers and Wildcats will compete in a best-of-three tournament with all three games at Agganis Arena. The teams will play Friday and Saturday with Sunday's game if necessary.
The New England Sports Network (NESN) selected New Hampshire at Boston University on Saturday afternoon at 4pm, live from Agganis Arena.
Tom Caron (play-by-play) and Craig Janney (color analyst) will have the call of the game for NESN from the campus of Boston University, while Hockey East Overtime LIVE will feature studio host Jamison Coyle and analyst Josh Ciocco.
BU swept the regular season series. The Terriers are 4-2-1 all-time vs. the Wildcats in the Hockey East playoffs. BU and UNH have only met once previously in the quarterfinals back in 1986, a series in which the Terriers were victorious.
Tickets for the 2012 Hockey East quarterfinals will be available to purchase in the "UNH" visiting team section by calling the Whittemore Center Arena Box Office on Monday, March 5 at 10:00 a.m. Tickets will ONLY be sold over the phone by calling 603-862-4000 extension 5. The deadline to purchase tickets through the Whittemore Center Box Office is NOON on Wednesday March 7. Please note that ALL tickets purchased must be picked up at will call. No tickets will be mailed or distributed in person at the Box Office.
All quarterfinal games will by streamed live by Pack Network on www.hockeyeastonline.tv for $8.95 per game, with the exception of the BC/UMass NBC Sports Network game on Friday and the UNH/BU NESN game on Saturday afternoon.
