Conklin named to United States Men's National Team
COLORADO SPRINGS, COLO. – Former University of New Hampshire men's hockey All-American Ty Conklin '01 (Anchorage, Alaska) was named to the 2011 United States Men's National Team on Wednesday afternoon, as announced by USA Hockey. The players will compete at the International Ice Hockey Federation World Men's Championship, April 29 - May 15, in Kosice and Bratislava, Slovakia.
Conklin was one of two goaltenders named to the team and one of seven players with previous experience on the U.S. Men's National Team. Conklin competed for the U.S. Men's National Team at the 2004 (bronze) and 2005 IIHF World Men's Championships and the 2004 World Cup of Hockey. Conklin appeared in 25 games for the St. Louis Blues and notched a 3.22 GAA with an 8-8-4 overall record in his eighth season in the NHL.
