Men's Hockey Standout Mike Sislo Signs with New Jersey Devils
DURHAM, N.H. -- Senior Mike Sislo (Superior, Wis.) of the University of New Hampshire men's hockey team has signed a two-year entry-level NHL contract with the New Jersey Devils. Sislo is expected play with the club's AHL affiliate Albany Devils for the remainder of the season.
Sislo capped his Wildcat career with 15 goals and 33 assists for 48 points in 39 games during the 2011 season. He led the team in assists, ranked second in goals, points, power-play goals (four) and game-winning goals (four). With those numbers, Sislo ranked #22 in the nation in points per game and 10th in assists per game. He led Hockey East in assists and also ranked fifth in the league in points as well as 11th in goals. In 154 career games, Sislo tallied 51 goals and 65 assists for 116 points. He is one of just 46 players in UNH men's hockey history to record 50+ goals and 50+ assists.
Sislo and the Wildcats finished the 2010-11 season with a 22-11-6 overall record and qualified for the NCAA's for the 10th-consecutive season. The 'Cats advanced to the Regional Finals for the third-straight season, becoming the only team in the nation with wins in each of the last three years.
