MEN’S HOCKEY DEBUTS IN USA TODAY POLL AT 12TH SPOT

COLORADO SPRINGS, Colo. - The University of New Hampshire men's hockey team has ridden a five-game unbeaten streak and debuts in the USA Today/USA Hockey Magazine's Men's College Hockey Poll Top 15 for the first time this season. The Wildcats appear in the 12th spot garnering 144 points.

The Wildcats last appeared in the USA Today poll when it was ranked sixth in the final national poll of the 2008-09 season. The 12th-ranked Wildcats hold a five-point lead in the Hockey East standing and are the highest ranked team of three league teams in the top 15 nationally, Massachusetts (14) and Boston College (15).

ABOUT THE POLL: The 15th annual USA Today/USA Hockey Magazine Men's College Hockey Poll is conducted each week in conjunction with the American Hockey Coaches Association. The poll includes input from coaches and journalists representing each of the six NCAA Division I ice hockey conferences, as well as composite votes from officers of the AHCA and USA Hockey Magazine, the most widely distributed hockey magazine in the world.
