DURHAM, N.H. - The annual Skate with the 'Cats event hosted by the Wildcat Kids' Club was held on Monday, Jan. 19, 2009. The day was a success with members of the men's and women's ice hockey teams spending the day signing autographs and taking photographs with the Kids' Club members at the Whittemore Center Arena.
Photographs are available for free download and purchase on the Wildcat Fan Photo Gallery. The event takes place annually on Martin Luther King, Jr. Day. All children between the ages of 5 to 13 are invited to attend from 10:00am to noon at the Whittemore Center Arena. Participants skate with and meet the Men's and Women's Hockey teams and their cooaches, as well as the UNH mascots, Wild E. Cat and Gnarlz.
The event is open to children who are current members of the Wildcat Kids' Club; however, new members may join on the day of the event for $15.00. This price includes free admission into all UNH athletic events, (excluding men's hockey), clinics and autograph sessions hosted by Wildcat athletic teams, a membership t-shirt and badge, posters for each UNH team, a free mini-Mariner meal at the Weathervane and much more! Parents are not permitted on the ice at the event and children should not bring hockey sticks. The next Skate with the 'Cats event will take place on January 18, 2010.
