POLLASTRONE GARNERS HOCKEY EAST PLAYER OF THE WEEK
WAKEFIELD, MASS. – Junior forward Jerry Pollastrone (Revere, Mass.) of the University of New Hampshire men’s hockey team was named CCM/Reebok Hockey East Co-Player of the Week, for the first time this season. The announcement was made on Monday afternoon by the league office.

Pollastrone had a breakout weekend against the Minutemen this weekend. The junior forward had five goals and skated a plus four over the weekend. Pollastrone registered his first career hat trick on Saturday night, while his two goals on Friday night matched a career high at that time. He netted the first goal for the Wildcats both nights. Pollastrone added an empty-net goal on Friday night. On Saturday, Pollastrone scored the fifth and sixth UNH goals. Pollastrone enjoyed a lot of success against UMass tallying six of his 13 goals against the Minutemen.

The No. 4-ranked Wildcats (25-8-3) will face seventh-ranked Boston College (19-11-7) on Friday in the Hockey East semifinals at TD Banknorth Garden in Boston (5 p.m.) on NESN.
