WAKEFIELD, Mass.  – Junior goaltender Kevin Regan (South Boston, Mass.) of the No. 2 ranked University of New Hampshire men’s hockey team was named Goaltender of the Month for November by the Hockey East Association on Wednesday afternoon.
    Regan, who won the award for the first time in his Wildcat career, went 7-0-1 in the month of November with a 1.98 GAA and a .931 save percentage in eight starts during UNH’s nine-game unbeaten streak, which is the second longest win streak in the nation. He shutdown Merrimack, 5-0, on Tuesday, Nov. 28th in the final game of the month for his fourth career shutout. Regan also posted 33 saves in the 8-2 victory at No. 1 Maine on Nov. 12 and 21 saves in the 6-3 win at #4 Boston College on Nov. 22.
    He has started 12 of UNH’s 13 games this season and owns a 9-2-1 record with a 2.34 GAA and a .920 save percentage. In league play, he has amassed a 2.10 GAA and a .925 save percentage with a 7-1-1 record. Regan has allowed two goals or fewer in six of his 12 starts. He ranks fourth in the nation in winning percentage among Division I goalies at 79% and his .920 save percentage is the 14th best total in the country.
    The Wildcats return to action on Sunday, December 3rd against the University of Vermont. Game time at the Whittemore Center is 3 p.m. The game will be televised by ESPNU.
