Wildcat men's hockey ranked ninth in USCHO preseason poll

MINNEAPOLIS, Minn. - The University of New Hampshire men's hockey team is currently ranked ninth in the USCHO/CSTV Division I preseason poll which was released on Monday afternoon.

The University of Denver, the 2005 national champions are atop the poll with 662 points and 17 first-place votes. UNH garnered 459 points in the first poll of the season, while Boston College was the highest Hockey East team in the poll coming in at the third spot.

UNH finished last season with a 26-11-5 overall record and finished second in conference standings with 15-5-4 mark in Hockey East action.

The Wildcats open the season with an exhibition game on Saturday, Oct. 8 vs. University of New Brunswick at the Whittemore Center (7 p.m.). UNH officially opens its 79th season of hockey on Friday, Oct. 14 vs. Ferris State (6 p.m.) at the Maverick Stampede tournament hosted by University of Nebraska- Omaha.
