~Flaishans earns Top Scholar-Athlete honor~

Brad Flaishans

In addition to Flaishans, freshman forward Thomas Fortney (Webster Groves, Mo.), freshman goaltender Kirk Manke (Clifton Park, N.Y.), sophomore goaltender Kevin Regan (South Boston, Mass.) and freshman forward Alan Thompson (Gilford, N.H.) all earned at least a 3.0 GPA in each of the two academic periods in which they actively competed. Flaishans and Regan are two-time Hockey East All-Academic selections.

Flaishans was recently named to the Academic All-District Second Team, while also earning the UNH Alumni Meritorious Service Award and the Sid Knight Award, given annually to the Wildcat men's hockey player with the top GPA at the team awards banquet.

Manke and Flaishans were members of the Hockey East Academic All-Star team, which identifies the top GPA's by position.
